St. Anne’s Knanaya Catholic Church, Kottody
Our Story
Kottody is a village located in the eastern highland region of Kasaragod district, Kerala. The Catholic community here has a history dating back to 1978, when a group of faithful families settled in the area and began gathering for prayer and worship.Initially, Holy Mass and other religious services were conducted in temporary facilities. As the number of believers increased, efforts were made to establish a permanent place of worship. Through the dedication and cooperation of the local community, a church building was eventually constructed.
The church was blessed and opened for worship in 1982. Over the years, it has served as a spiritual center for the people of Kottodi and nearby areas. Various religious, educational, and social activities are organized through the parish to support the faith formation and welfare of the community. In 1993, the church was elevated to the status of an independent parish. The parish continued to grow, and further development projects were undertaken to improve its facilities and services.
Today, St. Anne’s Church remains an important center of worship and community life. The parish actively participates in spiritual, cultural, and charitable activities, contributing to the growth and unity of the local Catholic community. It functions under the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church and continues its mission of faith and service
